The park was originally designed to be completed in a five-phase process. Implementation of each phase is primarily driven by our fund raising program. The Village of DeForest approved the architectural design for the park in June 2005. This comprehensive plan includes: a ceremonial entrance pad (complete with nine flags and an eagle perched high upon a pedestal), a 300 foot "Walk of Heroes" which includes initial space for 2,880 memorial brick pavers, granite monuments representing each of the five military branches (each will include a military service identification artifact adjacent to the granite memorial), a memorial to the fallen, and eight granite benches.
